A Sunny Border
This, hypothetical, mixed border planting was designed for a south-facing bed with free-draining soil.
The main requirements of the brief were:
- to obscure the unsightly fence at the back of the border,
- to use hot, fiery colours,
- to use architectural plants,
- planting to look good all year.
A combination of evergreen plants and herbaceous plants with strong winter skeletons results in a border with year-round structure. The border starts flowering in January and continues until October. Foliage, berry and bark contribute to the display.
